Level One Chimney Inspection
Routine Maintenance & Safety Check
A Level One Inspection is recommended for chimneys that have been regularly maintained and show no signs of damage or performance issues.
What We Check:
- Visible portions of the chimney exterior (curbside inspection)
- Readily accessible areas of the chimney structure and flue
- Obstructions or combustible deposits (like creosote buildup)
- Basic appliance installation and connections
Note:
This inspection is performed visually using the naked eye. Roof access is typically not required during a Level One inspection.

Level Two Chimney Inspection
More In-Depth for Safety & Real Estate Needs
A Level Two Inspection includes everything in a Level One—plus a detailed internal evaluation using specialized equipment.
When a Level Two Inspection is Recommended:
- Buying or selling a home
- After a chimney fire, storm, or damage-related event
- When changing or upgrading a fireplace or heating appliance
- Before relining or replacing a chimney liner
What We Do:
- Perform a video camera inspection of the flue
- Capture photos of any damage or concerns
- Inspect all accessible areas, including:
- Chimney exterior
- Attic
- Crawl space
- Basement
- Appliance and chimney connections
Accessible areas include any parts of the system that can be reached by removing doors, panels, or coverings using standard tools—without causing damage.
Important Note
If a Level Two Inspection is recommended but you choose to proceed with a Level One instead, this will be clearly documented in your inspection report for liability and safety purposes.
